OUR SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES

We are continually endeavoring to improve, but this is how Sustain Safaris presently operates with sustainability in mind:

Conservation

​​

• Our donations support 4 conservation NGOs through the Sustain Conservation Fund;

• We support a multitude of public and private protected areas through our tourism revenue spend;

• We provide sightings and research data to institutions as a citizen science contribution;

• We book accommodation, where possible, with eco-friendly and green certified establishments who share our values.

Community

​​

• We book and support community guides;

• We support local employment and enterprise in the areas we visit;

• We always endeavor to showcase and respect authentic contemporary indigenous cultures;

• Our guests purchase community goods and services.

Solid Waste and Emissions

​​

• On tour, guests receive reusable tin bottles to refill with filtered drinking water in a container along our journey, to eliminate the use of single use plastics;

• We separate waste on tour between recyclables and non-recyclables in paper bags;

• Reduce carbon emissions by guiding parts of our tours on foot in many destinations when undertaking birding and biodiversity tours;

• All marketing is undertaken via electronic mediums to reduce printing of promotional materials;

• We recycle paper and plastic at office level and on tour where possible;

• We reduce and avoid printing unless necessarily.

 

Social Policy
